These days all I see is reaction of people around me, either on tolerance or on intolerance, and I find most of comments are originating either from being prejudice or biased!! and majority are influenced by media, friends, or some political statement or politician, and few arise from individuals ideology as well. I feel is it so easy for all of us to get redirected.
All the greatest people, ever walked on his planet only taught us how to react!!
Each of them have lots of theories on reaction.
I will list few reaction strategies of some leaders and some famous reactions of history!!
Mahatma Gandhi ji

1. Ignore anything that is bad, ( meaning don't hear, see or talk)
2. Don't replicate bad response otherwise it will becomes your response, we are not just mirror, so don't slap back, do not follow newtons 3rd law.
Winston Churchill

1. It is victory; get it at all costs; victory in spite of all terror; victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.”
Meaning, anything or everything as cost of victory.

I know one thing about my self, that I can't really follow or agree to reactions of those leaders completely, do you see, may be somewhere you are as well not willing to follow any of those great people completely, as we have our own ideology, then why do we follow some news reporter or friend completely, what happens to our so called ideology while watching tv or during emotionally charged speeches.
And trust me, not all news reporters are journalist and not all of them gives you a complete picture, they are just story tellers, they sell the news as you find it more interesting they have to compete with other tv serials such as sas bhi kabhi bhau thi, and i guess people have stopped watching all those masala serials , for single reason, news are much more spicy!!
So how not to get redirected. Here are some tips.
How to Interpret

When you see smoke, do you jump to conclusion that it is from cooking food or from burning house, meaning event can have different interpretation. Look for intentions. But fire may be there.
Now how do we know how to interpret and event, surly I will not burn entire house to roast chicken. So look for its after effect who is actually going to get benefit from this and what benefit. As most of us works for some benefit, only an ordinary man is driven by other dream.
Choose authentic Source and not convenient source of information

Do you like same songs as your friend or have same reactions, news is never on like or dislike bases.
Similarly, news channel will filter and only those news which can hold our attention , they decide what to show us, while in news paper, all the news are listed, it is up to u which one to read and how many times, while news channel, they force us to watch same news again and again and with their interpretation, do u want to follow interpretation of that news reporter, who probably is news reporter as you were smarter then him during collage and he was forced to take up that job just because you never wanted it.

as many times we realize that was my impulse reaction which we at times regret later, since no one is asking for our reaction instantly, delay your reaction on such news for sometime, learn to postpone your reaction till you finish reading the complete news and till you get see all cards.
